Just a reminder to all movie-goers - Neill Blomkamp's District 9 is going to hit cinemas around the world on August 14 (that's tomorrow). As you should know, Peter Jackson also collaborated on the project as producer. I've been longing to see what these two guys can come up with, so I can't wait to check out the movie. It's a real shame about Halo, though I hear Spielberg might be doing a big-screen adaptation of Bungie's successful video game.

At any rate, District 9 seems like a brave and intelligent venture into an otherwise dull blockbuster summer (with the exception of Transformers 2, which I found to be extremely fun - largely thanks to ILM's mind-blowing visual effects and Optimus Prime's kick-ass battle scenes).
