Calvin and Hobbes Memories...

For the last few days I've gone through my collection of Calvin and Hobbes comic books and I must say I can never really get tired of those. I don't think I've ever read a comic that so vividly depicts a child's (or indeed a grown-up's) imagination. If it were up to me, I'd choose this as the best funny comic of all time. Seriously, it deserves praise all the way, both for its brilliant and creative drawings, charming characters and the unique and wacky dialogues between the two heroes.

Shame we don't have more such comics around.

Well, okay there are a few... but nothing quite as good (save perhaps some of the classics such as Peanuts or Garfield).

Recalling Frazetta

Even though some consider his work to be tacky, I have very fond memories of Frank Frazetta's work. There's sort of an emotional bond attached to most of his work - from my part, at least.

I dunno, I guess I miss such artists. Yes, there are many talented people out there working today, but some things you just can't forget. Some of Frazetta's portraits and pictures hold a great deal of fascination for me. Plus, his fantasy themed and sci-fi illustrations influenced a great number of modern day artists and that's no lie.

Here's to you, Fraz! Oh, can I call you Fraz?

Why Is It So Tough?

I need some time to cool off and forget the Internet. Ha! Actually, I tried that once before and I almost died. It's a waste of time. Sadly we live in an age where all the information we gather from the Web has become like a much-needed drug we have to consume on a daily basis.

And I ask you, why? Why is it so hard to quit? Hm, maybe it's not that hard if you have character. And how do you build character... Hm, that's a tough one. Hm...

I have it!!!

By playing video games and reading comic books. There that was easy.
