So, this is good news anyway. Batman Arkham City is now official, continuing the excellent story from Batman: Arkham Asylum. The first game was awesome and I'm really hoping Rocksteady makes an even better action adventure this time around.
Here's the first dose of info (apparently leaked from GameInformer):
Gameinformer Story info:
- Quincy Sharp is now running for mayor.
- Arkham Asylum and Black Gate Prison are unfit to hold inmates.
- Quincy Sharp buys off part of the slums and walls it off, creating Arkham City. - Hugo Strange is in charge of Arkham City.
- Two-Face plans to execute Catwoman to gain respect of inmates.
- The overdose of venom may not be what's wrong with the Joker.Gameinformer Gameplay info:
- You are now able to counter two attacks at once. - More puzzles.
- All gadgets included in the first game are available from the start.
- Side missions now feature in the game.
- Gangs roam Arkham City, these are recorded in Batman's criminal database.

There's also an official web site for the game.
Already a lot of people seem to be talking about what they think have been the best releases in 2009.
Personally, if you ask me, and if I have to choose one game, Batman: Arkham Asylum would be the best release this year. Frankly, it's the one game that truly managed to surprise me and exceed my expectations. That rarely happens in gaming for me.
So there you have it, I vote for Batz.

Hey, anybody get a chance to try out Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2? Well, I have and quite frankly it sort of feels less entertaining that the first game. Also, if you're gonna get this game, be sure you have someone to play it with in co-op - it's definitely more engaging that way.
Hm, perhaps I shouldn't have played this game after Batman: Arkham Asylum. In fact, I think from now on, having finished the latest Batman game, every superhero game is going to seem like a huge turd.
If you ask me, so far, Batman: Arkham Asylum is the most serious candidate for being Game of the Year.
Right now, I'm really enjoying the hell out of the new Batman game. It's delicious - awesome graphics, kick-ass combat and it stays true to both the comics and the animated series.
Love the story, btw and I think fans will too, seeing as it was penned by comic book author Paul Dini (Batman: The Animated Series, Detective Comics...).
Anyhow, if any of you out there are thinking about buying or renting this title, don't waste any more time. Just pick it up, it's honestly worth your time and money.
